George Steinbrenner has officially passed control of the New York Yankees to his youngest son, Hal.
Baseball owners unanimously approved the change at a meeting Thursday.
Back on October 10, this blog reported that Hal and older brother Hank were going to seize control of the Yanks from good ol' Dad. The roles of Hank and Hal were reversed from what actually happened 2 weeks later and the other moves did not pan out.
Now, 13 months later, it is in fact Hal that is "Yankee-1" and Hank can go back to Kentucky and tend to his horses.
Will the other moves now come to fruition? Rumor is that Hal is looking to dump Randy Levine now that his usefulness in building the new stadium is over.
