GM MEETINGS SPY REPORT II

Seen with Yankees GM Brian Cashman was Reds GM Wayne Krivsky. Speculation is that Cashman was checking the availability of 3b Jeff Keppinger. Keppinger would come at a lower price that Miguel Cabrera.

Also Cashman was engaged in a convo with Orioles VP Mike Flanagan. While the idea of trading for Miguel Tejada has been discussed, another player the Yanks are rumored to have asked about 3b Aubry Huff. Huff plays 1st and 3rd.

An interesting name that was brought up was Jason Giambi. On the Orioles side, Giambi makes $4 million less than Tejada. Giambi has a full no trade clause might welcome the idea since he is facing reduced playing time in his walk year with the Yankees.

Johnny Damon told WFAN's Sweeny Murti that he wants to stay with the Yankees. JD made an appearance at the GM meetings to meet up with his agent Scott Boras. He also discussed his Yankees future with Cash and Joe Girardi. Damon has a limited no trade clause that lists 18 teams. The rumored Damon for Crede trade seems to be dead since the White Sox said they do not intend to trade Joe Crede. Damon lives in Orlando, where the meetings are being held.
