He made several hints that he might even consider defecting to the Red Sox long-time rivals, the New York Yankees.

"I have a lot of friends there and all they talk about is how great things are, even when things are going bad, so, that's something that's good for them. It's a good situation that a player can be involved in," Ortiz said.
