The Yankees have traded infielder Wilson Betemit and minor league pitchers Jeff Marquez and Jhonny Nunez to the White Sox in exchange for switch-hitting 27 year old Nick Swisher and minor league pitcher Kanekoa Texeira.
Swisher ( .219 with 24 home runs in 2008) had the worst batting average among players with at least 502 plate appearances, the number needed to qualify for the batting title.
The son of former big leaguer Steve Swisher, and husband of model Danielle Gamba, played 71 games at 1st, 70 in CF, 18 in LF and 18 in RF for the Pale Hose.
Gamba now takes over the title as hottest Yankee wife from Laura Posada.
Oh yea....Kanekoa Texeira (22) was 6-3 with 21 saves and a 1.33 ERA in 51 combined relief appearances with Class A Winston-Salem and Double-A Birmingham, second among White Sox minor leaguers in saves.
