SAY WHAT?

This today from Brian Cashman as reported by the NY Daily News:


Cashman said he has received several calls about Kyle Farnsworth, but the Yankees have no plans to trade the erratic reliever. "He's our setup man," Cashman said. "I don't expect us to move him. We're going to need him."

ARE YOU CRAZY? This guy stinks! Get what you can and send him away.

ANDY PHILLIPS DFA'd

Andy Phillips was DFA'd yesterday. I believe this was nothing more than a 'rule 5' move by the Yankees. Being DFA'd puts him in roster limbo. He can't be rule 5 drafted and the Yankees can protect someone else. I expect to see Phillips in camp come February.
