YANKEES: 21 ON 9 IN 08

WWOR-TV (channel 9 in NY) and the YES Network have agrred to a one year extension of their agreement to broadcast Yankees games.

Channel 9, which is owned by FOX, will broadcast 21 games through the end of the 2008 season.

YES network also has a content agreement with FOX News and FOX Sports.

Lew Leone, general manager of WWOR-TV said "We enjoy a great partnership with the YES Network and are thrilled to remain the Yankees’ broadcast home."

Yankees Entertainment and Sports, has the rights to Yankees games.

In addition to the 21 games on WWOR-TV, YES will carry 125 games and the remainder will air on either FOX or ESPN.

YES will produce the 21 games broadcast on Channel 9 and use YES on-air personalities.
