Surprise! Pavano is hurt!
This time it is "muscle soreness" near his elbow and will not make his start against Oakland Saturday night.
Darrell Rasner will start in his place.
Joe Torre: "We don't think it's something to be worried about but it's something we're going to keep a close eye on."
Same thing he said about Matsui, next day he's on the DL.
Pavano is scheduled to throw in the bullpen Sunday. The Yankees will know then whether he will be able to pitch or go on the disabled list.
Pavano: "This is a totally different spot than what I felt last year. It's soreness, tightness, a spasm."
The only tightness this guy has is between his ears!
