Former Yankee farmhand J.T. Snow announced his retirement after 15 MLB seasons. He retires with a .268 batting average, 189 home runs and 877 runs batted in 1,715 games.
Snow has been hired by the S.F. Giants as a radio broadcaster. He also will serve as a roving minor league coach and an instructor at spring training, in addition to advising general manager Brian Sabean.
He was drafted by the Yankees in the 5th round of the 1989 amateur draft. On December 6, 1992 he was traded by the Yankees with Jerry Nielsen and Russ Springer to the California Angels for Jim Abbott.
