Boy, that Henry Waxman, he was really tough on ol' Rocket. What could possibly motivate the Democrat from California to be so concerned over the steroid/HGH issue?

It must be "the children".

Waxman, and other congressional blow-hards on the committee, are concerned that our children might follow the lead of their sports idols.

OR...could it be these other factors?

Waxman has received over $10,000, since 2000, in campaign contributions from George Mitchell, Mitchell's law firm (Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand) and executives at baseball partner FOX Sports.

A political action committee operated by the MLB commissioner’s (Bud Selig) office has given cogressional Democrats more than $300,000 since 2002. (Ummm...thats your ticket, cable and caps/shirts money, folks)

Selig's PAC has given $3,000 to Waxman since 2002.

The other loud mouth on the committee Rep. Elijah Cummings, accepted $1,000 form Selig's PAC in 2003.

But it's "about the children", right?

So next time Mitchie is on the hill lobbying for BIG TOBACCO, these slimeballs can pat him on the back for looking after the kids.

Hey Wax...what is easier for kids to get their hands on...Smokes or 'Roids?

And I'm sure that Waxman going after Clemens has nothing to do with Clemens' close ties to the Bush family.

How about some oversight hearings on how our returning war vets are being treated by government health care?

How about using the wasted money on these hearings on our Vets? You know...something USEFUL!

What scum.
