Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has signed with personal manager Guy Oseary for projects outside baseball, but still retains Scott Boras as his agent.
Oseary, who manages Lenny Kravitz and Madonna and is a partner in Untitled Entertainment, whose client base includes Hilary Swank and Naomi Watts, will be working with his first baseball player.
"This is to help him have more control of his image and brand," Oseary told Daily Variety.Major League Baseball Players Association said Boras is still listed as his agent, and that Oseary is not certified by the union to negotiate baseball contracts.
Oseary said he's exploring vehicles for Rodriguez, but hasn't anything specific, yet.
In a statement, Rodriguez said: "As I embark on this new chapter in my career, I know that I have found in Guy Oseary someone who is aligned with my interests and who has earned a lot of respect in the entertainment industry."
So "A" hired a PR firm...something I suggested in this blog yesterday.
