YANKEE REPORT CARDS: CATCHERS
Posada: A. Jorge had an outstanding year in all aspects. Hitting .277, 23 & 93. His fielding improved, throwing out 38 runners trying to steal, which was 2nd in the AL. He doesn't play like a 36 year old catcher and mended fences with Lil' Eunice.
Fasano: B. Sal was the perfect addition. A more than adequate #2 and someone who I would feel comfortable with for the long haul if called upon. It was reported he was an influence in the clubhouse.
Stinnett: C. One day he was here, next day poof, gone. He did ok during his tenure. I assume he was brought in for Eunice, but one the fences were mended with Jorge the Yanks looked to improve.
Nieves: INC. Played 6 games, 6 AB's, 0 hits. Is he the catcher of the future? Does he get a chance to be the #2 in 2007?
