CLIPPERS GET NEW HOME
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The name of the new 10,000-seat baseball stadium for the Columbus Clippers will be called Huntington Park, officials said in a Tuesday announcement.
The Franklin County Parks and Recreation Board and Franklin County Stadium Inc. made the announcement about Huntington Bancshares, Inc.'s letter of intent to purchasing the naming rights.
The stadium, which is scheduled to open in 2008, will be the new home of the Columbus Clippers Triple-A professional baseball team, NBC 4's Jerod Smalley reported.
The new stadium will be located on the northwest corner of Nationwide Boulevard and Neil Avenue, near Broadbelt Lane.
Huntington will pay $12 million over 23 years for naming rights.
The Clippers are the top farm club for the New York Yankees.
