NEW MILFORD -- Bernie Williams is used to making fans cheer and opponents cry with a swing of the bat as center fielder for the New York Yankees.
But Williams made fans cheer and cry with a strum of the guitar and stories about his late father on center stage at the Faith Church auditorium Friday night.
Williams, 37, played electric and acoustic guitar in front of more than 1,000 people at a concert to benefit the Faith Foundation for Kids, a New Milford based nonprofit, non-denominational foundation dedicated to helping underprivileged chilchildren and families with school supplies, clothing and scholarships for faith-based primary and secondary education, after school and daycare.
