PERFECT RX FOR THE METS!

The Mets will announce tomorrow that their new is GM Sandy Alderson.

Alderson will bring with him his old Oakland compadres Paul DePodesta and J.P. Ricciardi.

Depodesta went on to become the GM of the Dodgers and Ricciardi GM'd Toronto.

The lingering question is not who Alderson will hire as the field manager, but will he bring along his pharmaceutical staff from Oakland?

Alderson, after all, was the GM of the steroid induced "Bash Brothers" Oakland A's teams of the '90's.

Not a bad plan...pump up your players with steroids and you become a successful GM!

After Lou Piniella's surprise early departure in August, Mike Quade stepped in and led the Cubs to a 24-13 finish to an otherwise forgettable season for their fans.

The team announced Tuesday it has rewarded Quade (pronounced kwah-dee) with a a two-year contract and a club option for a third to be its full-time manager.

I guess Girardi won't be going home.
